WHO WE ARE Minnesota Association For ProfessionalDevelopment

Minnesota Association For Professional Development was formed in 2012 in response to the unmet professional development needs of employees within the state. Achieving professional standards is a hallmark of the goals that we believe better encourage and enable employees. High standards serve to demand a collaborative and comprehensive approach to professionalism. When employees do their best work, serve the public, and provide outstanding services to the citizens of Minnesota, everyone benefits! MAPD strives to be flexible and creative while offering professionals a wide range of benefits related to their job and career development, including networking, continuing education seminars, webinars, classes, study resources, social opportunities, organization membership, professional ethics, fees related to professional standards, in-person and virtual access.

Mission

Our mission is to encourage professional growth and high standards of professionalism. MAPD encourages employees to enhance their skills, knowledge, expertise which ultimately benefits the entire community. We strive to work with other organizations and your employer to assist with resources, contacts and opportunities that help professionals reach their full potential thorugh education, licensing, and networking.

How This Works

Through memberships, individuals may participate in MAPD events and request funding for full or partial reimbursement of costs incurred for professional development. Individuals are encourage to initiate joining MAPD for their professional development. Employees may be reimbursed for the MAPD dues by their employer. In thos cases, essentially, the employee’s net cost for membership is free. MAPD membership runs on a fiscal year from July 1st to June 30th of each year.
